President Christodoulides at Tiliria Commemoration Events

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, attended the events in Pachyammos today for the anniversary of the 1964 bombing of Tiliria by the Turkish Air Force.
President Christodoulides laid a wreath at the monument to those who fell during the battles of Tiliria, located in the courtyard of the Church of Agios Raphael. The memorial service was presided over by Archbishop of Cyprus Georgios.
Following the memorial service, a roll call of the fallen and wreath-laying took place. Members of the reserve commandos carried a flame from Lorovouno hill, the site of the 1964 battles, to the monument in the courtyard of Agios Raphael.
Local officials emphasized the significance of President Christodoulides' visit, noting that it is the first time a President of the Republic has attended the annual commemoration events.
