As the extension of the contract for covering the technical needs of Paphos Hospital by the Electromechanical Service (EMS) expires tomorrow, concerns are rising about potential operational problems at the hospital.

So far, no private technicians have been hired, nor has the contract with the EMS been renewed. Paphos MP Chrysanthos Savvidis confirmed the concerns of officials, stressing that the EMS had been covering the technical needs of all state hospitals until recently.

Paphos Hospital is the only one that has not completed the process of assigning the work to a private contractor, resulting in the renewal of the mandate to the EMS until July 31, 2025. Mr. Savvidis called on the authorities to take immediate decisions regarding the technical support of the hospital, warning of risks to patients and staff from potential technical problems.
