Nikos Logginos: Fire has been contained – Services on alert

The Chief Fire Officer of the Fire Service, Nikos Logginos, stated that the situation today is "very good" compared to yesterday's fire. He mentioned that there were small flare-ups last night, but the situation has improved.

Mr. Logginos assured that the fire has been contained and its extent is known. They remain on alert and crews will remain for the next few days due to high temperatures and low humidity.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the morphology of the terrain creates a microclimate that favors the rapid spread of fires.

Regarding the 26 Forest Commandos from Greece, Mr. Logginos said that they will help with the flare-ups, as they are specially trained.

Finally, he mentioned that the Fire Service arrived at the fire site in 6 minutes.
