New Facial Recognition Software in Cypriot Stadiums

New facial recognition software has been implemented in Cypriot stadiums, according to exclusive information from Omega Channel and journalist Stelios Charalambous.

The software aims to prevent and identify individuals in case of incidents. As Stelios Charalambous reported, the system has been successfully tested in stadium conditions, identifying individuals even with hoods.

Furthermore, there are plans to digitize football tickets through the digital citizen platform, following the model of Greece. Ticket purchases will be made electronically, and identification will be done via QR code or barcode.

It remains unknown when the measure will be implemented, as it may pose difficulties mainly for older citizens.
