The bus drivers' strike at Larnaca Public Transport continues for the tenth day. A new General Assembly will be held today, following a meeting between the unions and the Minister of Labor, Yiannis Panagiotou.

According to CYPE, a lengthy meeting took place yesterday at the Ministry of Labor with representatives from the unions PEO, SEK, and DEOK. The striking drivers will meet at the SEK offices in Larnaca to approve or reject the proposal.

The new proposal includes clarifications regarding observations on route cards and the functionality of route cards, which will be checked by the competent Ministries. Additionally, it provides for a one-hour break and overtime pay beyond 7 hours and 36 minutes from the first minute. Breaks that were not previously recorded will also be noted.

The drivers are demanding the implementation of the 38-hour work week, as stated in the collective labor agreement.
