Delay for Paphos-Polis Road Project Due to Appeal
Share on:

The Paphos-Polis Chrysochous road project is expected to face a new delay due to an appeal filed by AKTOR company to the Review Authority for Public Tenders. According to the Director of the Department of Public Works, Eleftherios Eleftheriou, the delay is estimated at one to one and a half months.

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works has already tendered the project. AKTOR, which had received the tender documents, appealed to the Authority requesting the suspension of the tendering process in order to examine certain points.

Mr. Eleftheriou stated that the Review Authority for Public Tenders decided to limit the process until both parties express their positions. The Authority will examine these positions and decide whether any of the terms of the documents need revision. The project concerns Phase A and the road network from Agia Marinouda to Stroumbi.

Phase A of the Polis – Paphos road had been terminated by the state with the company Intrakat, due to legal procedures. The Ministry of Transport proceeded with the re-tendering of the project.
