Mouttagiaka Fire Contained – Access Obstruction for Fire Trucks Reported

A fire in the Mouttagiaka area was brought under control after three hours, thanks to the mobilization of the Fire Service, the Department of Forests, and other services. The fire threatened residential areas, but major damage was avoided.

According to the Fire Service, the fire has been contained. 11 fire trucks from various cities were involved, supported by the Department of Forests and other services.

The Mayor of Amathountos, Kyriakos Xydias, stated that there was an immediate response and thanked all those involved. He also mentioned that citizens tried to help, but some obstructed the passage of fire trucks.

The causes of the fire are under investigation.
