The process for electing a new Metropolitan of Paphos is expected to begin after the Easter holidays. The Press Representative of the Archdiocese of Cyprus, Christakis Efstathiou, stated that the approval of the revised Statutory Charter by the Holy Synod must precede the elections.

According to Mr. Efstathiou, the revised Statutory Charter is expected to be submitted to the Holy Synod after Easter. The committee processing the Charter consists of academics and Bishops with legal training.

Mr. Efstathiou clarified that the electoral process will only begin after the delivery and approval of the revised text. Unofficially, interest is reportedly being expressed by Bishop of Karpasia Christoforos, Bishop of Amathus Nikolaos, Bishop of Mesaoria Grigorios, and Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Apostle Barnabas, Archimandrite Ioannis Ioannou.

In the 2023 elections, Tychikos was elected Metropolitan of Paphos. Archimandrite Ioannis came second, Bishop of Amathus Nikolaos third, and Bishop of Karpasia Christoforos fourth.
