Mitarakis Proposes 'Chios Pass' After Fires

Chios MP, Notis Mitarakis, has proposed the creation of a 'Chios Pass' to Kyriakos Mitsotakis, aimed at supporting the Amani region after the recent fires. The proposal comes despite the reactions caused by the 'Achaia Pass'.
According to the Chios newspaper 'Politis', Mr. Mitarakis participated in the meeting of the Coordinating Body for Civil Protection of the Municipality of Chios. He mentioned that weather conditions hindered the efforts of ground and aerial firefighting means.
Mr. Mitarakis presented a set of interventions for the reconstruction of Amani, including the 'Chios Pass', worth 1.5 million euros, to subsidize the accommodation of visitors in the area. He also proposed measures for compensating those affected and establishing a special fund to cover damages.
In contrast to a previous communication with the Prime Minister via video call, this time Mr. Mitarakis sent a letter to Kyriakos Mitsotakis, requesting a support program with emphasis on the fire-stricken areas of Amani.
