Student Bus Tickets: New Prices and Information

The Ministry of Transport has announced new measures for student bus tickets, effective from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2027.

The monthly student fare is set at €5, with a state subsidy of €17. The annual student fare is set at €30, with a subsidy of €190.

To issue an annual ticket, a personalized "Motion" card and a certificate of attendance or student ID are required.

Children from large and five-member families attending Public Secondary and Technical Education are exempt from fares upon presentation of a large family ID or five-member family certificate.

Minors under the care of the Social Welfare Services (ΥΚΕ) who do not attend school are also eligible. The cost is covered by the ΥΚΕ, with a subsidy from the ΥΜΕΕ.

Needy students and children of beneficiaries of the Minimum Guaranteed Income (ΕΕΕ) are entitled to a monthly or annual ticket of zero value.

Until September 12, 2025, student transport will be free, while from September 13, 2025, a valid ticket is required.

The process of issuing "Motion" cards begins on September 1, 2025.
