Nicosia: Terrorist Attack Management Exercise at Conference Center

A terrorist attack management exercise will take place on Friday, December 19, 2025, between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM at the Conference Center in Nicosia.

The exercise, as part of the Cyprus Police's cooperation with the Secretariat of the Cypriot Presidency in anticipation of the Republic of Cyprus assuming the Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2026, will concern a terrorist attack on the premises of the Conference Center in Nicosia.

The exercise will involve forces from various services and departments of the Cyprus Police, the Ambulance Service, the Fire Service, as well as the Secretariat of the Cypriot Presidency.

The aim is to determine the level of preparedness, response, and coordination of the competent services on security issues at the Conference Center.

During the exercise, police forces are expected to mobilize in the area, and blank rounds will be fired inside the premises. The public is informed that there is no cause for concern.
