Limassol: Land Expropriation for Parking and Green Spaces

The Limassol Municipal Council decided to expropriate a plot of land exceeding 5,000 sq.m. in the Turkish Cypriot quarter, on Ferzit Pasha Street. The aim is to create parking spaces, park and ride facilities, green spaces, and sports areas.
The expropriation will be fully funded by the Limassol Municipality, following a negative response from the Ministry of Transport. The case has been pending for over 20 years.
The estimated cost amounts to €2 million, and the proposed development is included in the Limassol Area Plan. An offer from an Israeli investor was rejected.
