Limassol: 124 sq. km of Burnt Land, Satellite Estimate

The burnt area in the Limassol province is estimated at 124 square kilometers, according to an initial, rapid assessment by the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence of the Cyprus University of Technology.

The assessment was based on a low-resolution satellite image from the Sentinel-3 satellite, acquired on July 24, 2025. The spatial resolution of the image is 300 meters.

The Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence expects an updated analysis with higher resolution satellite data in the coming days.
