Larnaca Bus Services Return to Normal After Strike Ends
Share on:

Bus services operated by Larnaca Public Transport are running normally again today, following the decision of 120 drivers to end their strike action. The unions ΟΜΕΠΕΓΕ-ΣΕΚ, ΣΕΓΔΑΜΕΛΙΝ-ΠΕΟ, and ΔΕΕ ΕΜΠΟΡΙΚΩΝ ΔΕΟΚ announced that monitoring of the resolution of issues will continue under the supervision of the Department of Labour Relations.

The strike, which began on July 30, was held due to a violation of the collective labor agreement regarding the 38-hour work week. Larnaca Public Transport apologized for the inconvenience caused to the public.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance expressed satisfaction with the agreement reached and the smooth operation of public transport in the Larnaca district. It also stressed the importance of tripartite cooperation for resolving disputes.
