Larnaca Bus Services Return to Normal After Strike Ends

Bus services in Larnaca have returned to normal today following the decision by 120 drivers of Larnaca Public Transport to end their strike action. The unions OMEPEGE-SEK, SEGDAMELIN-PEO, and DEE EMPORIKON DEOK announced that the process of resolving the issues will continue under the supervision of the Department of Labour Relations, with the aim of fully implementing the Collective Labour Agreement.
In a joint statement, the unions stated that the General Assembly of workers decided to lift the strike measures and accept the proposal of the Ministry of Labour. The strike had begun on July 30 due to a violation of the Collective Agreement.
Larnaca Public Transport apologized to the public for the inconvenience caused and confirmed the resumption of normal services from today, Saturday, August 9.
The Ministry of Labour expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the efforts and stressed the importance of tripartite cooperation for resolving disputes.
