Larnaca: Elderly Man Found Dead at Phinikoudes Beach

An elderly man was found unconscious in the Phinikoudes area of Larnaca and was taken to the General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) activated the National Search and Rescue Plan "NEARCHOS" following a report of a missing swimmer. A speedboat from the Port and Maritime Police and a boat from the Larnaca District Administration with a team of lifeguards participated in the operation.

Police information indicates that the elderly man used to swim with his friends. His details will be released after the autopsy, which will be carried out to determine the exact cause of death.
