Larnaca Bus Strike: Indefinite Action – LPT's Response

Larnaca Public Transport (LPT) has announced that it cannot take further action to resolve the bus workers' strike, which began following a union announcement of an indefinite strike. The company expressed regret for the ongoing strike, which has led to a complete suspension of bus services in Larnaca.
Despite its willingness to engage in dialogue and compliance with collective agreements, the strike remains in effect. LPT acknowledges the inconvenience caused to passengers and apologizes for the disruption, assuring that it is making every effort to restore normalcy.
Natia Kyritisi, General Secretary of SEGDAΜELIN PEO, called on the Ministry of Labour to intervene and ask LPT to comply with agreements made with employees. Unions state they are ready for dialogue but have not been approached by the Ministry or the company.
The 120 LPT employees decided to go on an indefinite strike, claiming that the agreement for a 38-hour work week is not being respected.
