Larnaca: Stricter Penalties for Water Waste

The Larnaca District Self-Government Organization (EOA) has announced stricter penalties for water waste, according to the Water Saving (Special Measures) Law (N.1/1991).

The out-of-court fine increases from €51 to €85, with a payment deadline of 30 days. In case of non-payment, the fine increases by 50% and an additional 15-day deadline is granted. If the violation is repeated within 18 months, the fine increases to €150.

Authorized teams from EOA Larnaca will conduct inspections in establishments in the city and district of Larnaca. Employees have the right to enter any establishment or property (excluding residences) for inspection purposes.

EOA Larnaca calls on citizens to show responsibility in water use to avoid water supply interruptions during the summer period.
