The bus drivers' strike in Larnaca continues for the 8th day, causing disruption, especially during the tourist season.

The drivers of Larnaca Public Transport rejected a proposal regarding their working hours, accusing the company of violating the collective agreement.

The strikers are demanding the implementation of the 38-hour week, as stated in the collective agreement. The rejected proposal provided for compensation for employment exceeding 7 hours and 36 minutes per day, with a working framework not exceeding 9 hours and a break of up to 60 minutes.

New work schedules will be communicated to employee representatives within 48 hours and sent by September 3. The unions are determined to claim their labor rights, despite the risk of losing wages due to the strike.

The competent state services will evaluate the scheduling of breaks.

On card 12, route 413, the break will take place at the Kofinou station.
