The Department of Labour Inspection has identified toys and plastic products in the Cypriot market containing high levels of phthalates, exceeding the permissible limits.

The process of withdrawing these products has begun immediately. According to an announcement, the unsuitable products are: MINI PLAY GROUND, play set, Barcode 6547892001202, magic beauty Barcode 6900005651617, Bath Mat VS VC2280 70x40cm, Star Design PVC, Shower Mat Barcode 5206753039976, Self-adhesive Wall Wallpaper 300x45cm, Barcode Ο536771000036.

Phthalates are classified as toxic substances for reproduction and are included in the restrictions of Annex XVII of the REACH Regulation (points 51 and 52). Toys and plastic articles containing concentrations greater than 0.1% by weight in plasticized material should not be placed on the market.
