Cyprus: Fighting Revivals in Limassol – EU Sends Firefighting Aid

Efforts to extinguish the fire in the Limassol area continue. The EU's Emergency Response Coordination Centre has mobilized two Canadair aircraft from the EU's joint firefighting fleet, rescEU, in response to a request from the Cypriot authorities through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

The EU has also responded to emergency fire needs in Albania and North Macedonia, deploying firefighting aircraft and equipment from various countries, including Greece.

Approximately 670 firefighters from 14 countries are participating in this initiative.
