A historic high temperature record was set in Cyprus today, with the mercury reaching 44.7 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Service announced that the highest daily temperature for the month of July was recorded at the radiosonde station in Athalassa, since the station began operating.

Weather conditions remain extremely difficult, exacerbating the situation with the devastating fire in Limassol. Temperatures are expected to remain high in the coming days, with the minimum temperature not falling below 28 degrees inland.

For tomorrow, Friday, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 44 degrees inland and 34 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
