Heatwave in Cyprus: Temperatures at 43 Degrees – New Warning Issued

The yellow alert issued by the Department of Meteorology remains in effect until 9 a.m. Subsequently, from 11:00 a.m., an orange alert is in effect due to the heatwave, with temperatures expected to reach 43 degrees Celsius inland.

The orange alert expires at 5:00 p.m., but is expected to be renewed. The weather will be mainly clear, with winds initially light and gradually southwesterly to northwesterly, 3 to 4 Beaufort, while on the western coasts in the afternoon they will reach 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough.

Temperatures will reach 43 degrees inland, 36 on the southern and eastern coasts, and 34 on the western and northern coasts, as well as in the higher mountains. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the weather will be mainly clear, with a slight increase in temperature until Thursday.
