Aglandjia Municipal Swimming Pool to Remain Closed Until 2026

The Aglandjia Municipal Swimming Pool will remain closed for a second consecutive year, according to Aglandjia Deputy Mayor Andreas Constantinou, speaking to OMEGAlive. The swimming pool closed in 2024 for renovation work.

According to Mr. Constantinou, the renovation work is scheduled to begin in September 2026. The delay is due to the procedures for the energy upgrade and the cost of the complete renovation.

Mr. Constantinou stated that the KOA (Cyprus Sports Organisation) will cover the amount of 1.3 million euros for the renovation, while the Municipality will cover the cost of the energy upgrade. The written commitment of the KOA is awaited for the start of the procedures.

The swimming pool had issued an announcement in May 2024, informing the public that it would remain closed during the summer period. In the summer of 2025, it opened briefly and has remained closed ever since.
