A yellow alert is in effect for a combination of rain and thunderstorms, according to the Cyprus Meteorological Service. The alert is valid until 6 AM on Saturday.

The island will be affected by periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms. Hail is possible during thunderstorms, and winds will strengthen. On the highest peaks of Troodos, snow or sleet is possible in the late afternoon.

Total rainfall, mainly in the western half of the island, may exceed 55 millimeters in 24 hours, with rainfall intensity reaching 35 millimeters per hour. Dust will be present in the atmosphere until the evening.

Winds will be southerly to southwesterly, moderate to strong 4 to 5 Beaufort, occasionally very strong, 6 Beaufort. The temperature will rise to around 19 degrees Celsius inland and on the coasts, and to 8 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains.

Isolated rain or thunderstorms are expected on Saturday, while on Sunday and Monday the weather will be mainly clear, with a gradual increase in temperature.
