Yellow Alert for Rain, Hail, and Snow in Cyprus

A yellow alert for rain, isolated thunderstorms, and strong winds is in effect from 7:00 AM on Saturday. According to the Department of Meteorology, the warning will weaken by 7:00 AM on Sunday.
The weather phenomena are expected to affect the island at times, with total rainfall potentially exceeding 55 millimeters locally within 24 hours.
Tonight, the weather will remain mainly cloudy with rain and isolated thunderstorms. In the event of a thunderstorm, hail is possible, and sleet or snow may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. Winds will blow at 4 to 5 Beaufort, and 5 to 6 Beaufort in the north. The sea will be rough to choppy. The temperature will drop to around 10 degrees inland, around 12 on the coast, and around zero in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow, the weather will be partly cloudy and at times mainly cloudy, with local rain and isolated thunderstorms expected. In the event of a thunderstorm, hail is possible, and sleet or snow may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. Winds will blow at 5 to 6 Beaufort and the sea will be rough to choppy. The temperature will range around 17 degrees inland, around 19 on the coast, and around 9 degrees in the higher mountains.
