The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow alert for extreme maximum temperatures during Saturday night and the early morning hours of Sunday. The warning will be in effect from 10 p.m. until 9 a.m. on Sunday.

During this period, the minimum temperature is expected to drop to 26 degrees Celsius inland and on the coasts, and to 24 degrees Celsius in the higher mountainous areas.

At the same time, the Department of Forests warns of a red alert for the risk of forest fires breaking out and spreading. In case anyone notices smoke or fire, they are asked to call 1407 (Department of Forests) or 112 (Fire Service) immediately.

As mentioned in a post by the Department on X, the warm air mass affecting the area keeps the minimum temperatures at high levels.
