Share on:

Five rescue operations have taken place in the last 17 days at the sea caves of Cape Greco. The EMAK and the Fire Service rescued a swimmer who was injured after diving in the area. According to Andreas Kettis, the operation was lengthy and carried out under difficult conditions.

The injured man was retrieved and transported to Famagusta General Hospital. Yesterday, a total of four people were in danger in the area, with the Search and Rescue Coordination Center activating the National Search and Rescue Plan "Nearhos."

Koula Mesaritou, Press Officer of the Fire Service, stated that there is a continuous violation of warnings, endangering citizens and rescue teams. In 2025, the Fire Service and the Search and Rescue Coordination Center responded to nine incidents in the sea caves of Cape Greco.
