Cape Greco: 4 Rescued After Fall in Sea Caves Area

The JRCC was alerted on Sunday afternoon, August 17th, following a report of four people in danger after a fall in the sea caves area of Cape Greco.

The National Search and Rescue Plan “NEARCHOS” was activated, and forces from the OKYPY Ambulance Service, Paralimni Fire Department, EMAK, Famagusta Police Directorate, Port and Maritime Police, and a police helicopter were mobilized.

The four rescued individuals were retrieved by EMAK, while one injured person was transported to Famagusta General Hospital. The JRCC reminds the public that approaching and diving in the sea caves are strictly prohibited due to severe erosion.
