A delay of one to one and a half months is expected in the construction of the new Paphos-Polis Chrysochous road due to an appeal filed by the company AKTOR with the Tender Review Authority. This was announced to CYPΕ by the Director of the Department of Public Works, Eleftherios Eleftheriou.

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works has tendered the project. AKTOR, one of the companies that received the documents, appealed to the Tender Review Authority requesting that the process be stopped until certain points are examined.

Mr. Eleftheriou stated that the Tender Review Authority decided to restrict the process until both parties express their positions, in order to decide whether any of the terms of the documents need revision. The Department of Public Works will respect the decision and provide the necessary information.

The decision will determine whether any of the contract terms need revision before the tendering process can be completed. The project concerns Phase A and the road network from Agia Marinouda to Stroumpi.

Phase A of the Polis – Paphos road was terminated by the state with the company Intrakat. The Ministry of Transport proceeded to re-tender the project.
