Tuition Fees Abolished for Children Aged 3-4.5 from September 1st

By decision of the Council of Ministers, tuition fees for children aged 3 to 4.5 years will be abolished from September 1st in public kindergartens. The Minister of Education, Athena Michaelidou, stated that this measure facilitates families and encourages kindergarten attendance.

Additionally, the Ministry of Education approved the operation of a kindergarten in occupied Kormakitis, where two children will attend. Regarding the repatriation of talent, three additional measures have been decided for education:

• Access to Greek language learning for the spouses of repatriated talents through educational centers.
• Free Greek lessons for spouses and children through state training institutes.
• Increase in the annual grant for children attending private schools. The amount increases to 1000 euros for secondary education, while eligibility now requires seven years of residence abroad instead of ten.
