"Isotita": 24-Hour Strike at Social Welfare Services Successful

The Pancyprian Union "Isotita" considers the 24-hour strike by the Sectoral Council of Social Welfare Services successful. In a statement, the union reports that it received written assurances from the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, which excluded the possibility of disciplinary actions and froze the transfer of programs for people with disabilities to the Social Welfare Services, in order to allow for dialogue.
"Today's 24-hour strike is considered successful at this stage, and we will not proceed with further measures," the union notes.
"Only with the contribution of all of us, we have the power to be heard and to claim better and more qualitative working conditions, with a focus on serving the vulnerable groups of our fellow citizens," it concludes.
