Heraklion: Van Collision on VOAK – Eight Injured

Eight people were injured in a serious collision between two vans on the Northern Road Axis of Crete (VOAK) in Heraklion on Saturday afternoon. One of the injured is hospitalized in serious condition.
The accident occurred near Agia Pelagia, when a van carrying Polish tourists collided head-on with another van carrying Slovak tourists. According to reports, one van veered into oncoming traffic.
Ambulances from EKAV, EMAK vehicles, and Traffic Police rushed to the scene. One of the drivers was trapped and required intervention from the fire department for extrication.
The accident occurred on one of the dangerous curves of the VOAK, a road with a high number of accidents.
