President of Cyprus Satisfied with Support Measures for Fire Victims in Limassol

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, expressed his satisfaction with the progress in implementing support measures for those affected by the recent fires in the Limassol district. During the Council of Ministers meeting, he reviewed the implementation of decisions taken after the devastating fires.

The President specifically mentioned the compensations being paid through the Ministry of Interior, the cost assessments by ETEK for the damaged buildings, as well as the support measures for businesses and compensation for raw materials from the Ministry of Commerce.

Furthermore, he referred to the immediate compensation and support plan for farmers and livestock breeders from the Ministry of Agriculture, as well as the support plan for employees through the Ministry of Labor. The Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare is in contact with those affected to provide financial assistance.

President Christodoulides gave instructions for the immediate implementation of the recommendations in the reports of the competent Services and for full cooperation with the team of American experts arriving in Cyprus to investigate and evaluate the management of the fires.
