The Historical Memory Council of the EOKA 1955-1959 Struggle is requesting state support for the care of EOKA historical sites. In a statement, it also expresses its support for the General Georgios Grivas Digenis Foundation in Athens, following criticism.

The Council condemns online publications that target the Foundation's decisions, which seek to preserve the historical memory of the EOKA struggle. It refers to efforts to find an investor for the memorial site in Lemesos.

The Council has undertaken the cleaning of the site, amounting to €4,000, due to concerns about fire. It points out that no one else had cared for the site. It calls on the State, journalists and parties not to become 'prey' to those who insult those who care for the historical sites of EOKA.

Special mention is made of the historical ship SEIRIN, which transported Chief Digenis to Cyprus.
