Fire Service Denies Claims of Defective Vehicles
The Fire Service has denied a report concerning defective fire trucks. In a statement, the Service emphasizes that all vehicle acquisitions are conducted in accordance with the Public Procurement Law and meet European safety standards.
The Fire Service highlights that each delivery is accompanied by the necessary certificates and documents, ensuring the quality and legality of the supply. Furthermore, it mentions that, despite the absence of a legal obligation, the Service submits its vehicles to technical inspections at the Department of Road Transport every two years.
The statement emphasizes that the safety of personnel is a primary concern, and any vehicle with a defect is taken out of service until fully repaired. The Service has a central workshop and technicians to address problems immediately.
