Larnaca General Hospital: Complaints of Long Waits and Unused Beds

Reports of lengthy patient delays at Larnaca General Hospital, despite the availability of beds, have raised questions about resource management by OKYPY. According to a report in the newspaper «Πολίτης», patients complain that many beds remain unused, possibly due to a shortage of nursing staff.
In some departments, while there are 28-30 beds, only 18-20 are used, resulting in patients waiting for hours to find a bed. A patient reportedly remained on a trolley for 48 hours.
OKYPY spokesman Charalambos Charilaou responded that bed usage is based on hospital needs and that incidents such as the 48-hour case are isolated.
