Gavdos: Huts demolished with riot police escort

On Gavdos, demolition protocols for huts on the beaches of Lavrakas and Ai-Giannis are being carried out with the presence of riot police squads. The demolitions concern makeshift structures made of wood and natural materials used for accommodation.
The presence of contractor crews provoked reactions from the Gavdos Sea Front Collective, which supports the contribution of beach residents to the preservation of the ecosystem. Riot police were transported to the island by ferry due to the reactions.
The demolition protocols were issued by the Decentralized Administration of Crete.
