Fire in Psimolofou: Damage to Property and Equipment

A fire broke out on Saturday afternoon in the Deftera – Psimolofou area, in the Nicosia district, prompting a response from the Fire Service.

According to a Fire Service announcement, the fire started in a 6×6 meter property in Psimolofou. The fire was brought under control at 18:20.

The property suffered extensive damage from the fire and heat, as well as its contents, including small furniture, stationery and equipment. The fire also spread to dry grass and wild vegetation around the property. A container in an adjacent field was also affected.

Three fire trucks from the Nicosia Fire Stations, supported by a vehicle from the Department of Forests, responded to extinguish the fire.

The causes of the fire are being investigated in cooperation with the competent authorities.
