Fire in Dymes, Limassol: Human Factor Suspected

A fire that broke out in the community of Dymes, in the Limassol district, is attributed to human error. The fire was brought under control after burning six decares of pine trees, almond trees, and low wild vegetation.

According to the Department of Forests, the fire started from the use of an electric tool (emery) and was brought under control after several hours. 35 people from the Department of Forests with six fire trucks, one tanker, and 12 people from the Fire Service with four fire trucks participated in the extinguishing operation. In addition, four leased aircraft of the Air Firefighting Squadron were involved.

The fire broke out at 1:30 PM and was brought under control at 2:45 PM.
