Limassol Fire: Residents' Testimonies of Destruction and Hope

The deadly fire in the Limassol region has left behind ashes and deep wounds. Residents of the affected areas share their experiences, speaking about the destruction but also the hope for the future.

Mr. Polycarpou, a resident of the area, described the destruction of his home and the loss of his garden. He referred to the feeling of abandonment he felt, asking for answers about the handling of the fire.

"We will rebuild the house. But the garden... I don't know how many thousands of plants it had. All gone," said Mr. Polycarpou.

Mrs. Kleio, a resident of Vouni, spoke about the loss of her home, which was ready to be inhabited. Despite the destruction, she expressed her relief for the rescue of her dogs and the hope for the regeneration of the area.

"I am glad that my puppies were saved... We were affected, but we hope," said Mrs. Kleio.

Residents hope for support from the state and look forward to a fairer and safer life.
