Fire in Petralona, Messinia – 5 Aircraft Operating

A fire is currently burning between Petralona and Magganiakos, in the Municipality of Messini. Strong firefighting forces are operating in the area with 5 aircraft and water trucks from the Municipalities.

The fire is burning agricultural and forest land and is visible from Kalamata. According to the Fire Department, 45 firefighters have been mobilized with 2 teams of the 9th EMODE, 15 vehicles, 4 A/F and 1 E/P. Assistance is provided by project machinery and OTA water trucks.

Earlier, a message was sent from 112 calling on residents to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of the authorities.
