The Chief of the National Guard, Georgios Tsitsikostas, has ordered an investigation into meteorologist Erik Kita's complaint regarding his exchange with a National Guard military officer during the deadly fire in Limassol.

According to Erik Kita, the military officer responded inappropriately when the meteorologist warned of the risk of people being burned. The complaint was made on the show "Elefthera ki Oraia" on Channel 6 on June 30.

Mr. Kita stated that he saw cars heading towards the fire front and warned a military officer, who allegedly responded indifferently to the possibility of casualties.

The investigation aims to determine whether there are disciplinary responsibilities against a brigadier general. The investigation has been assigned to the General Inspector of the Army, Andreas Charalambous.

Sources from the Ministry of Defense confirmed the investigation, which was ordered last week.
