Cyprus Environment Commissioner: Devastation in Limassol

Environment Commissioner Antonia Theodosiou expressed her sorrow for the destruction caused by the fire in Limassol, referring to losses in homes, properties, crops, and the natural environment.
Ms. Theodosiou emphasized the enormous ecological and economic damage and expressed her solidarity with those affected. She also mentioned the animals affected, both domestic and wild, and thanked those who participated in the rescue efforts.
The Commissioner is in contact with residents of the affected areas and the competent services, and stressed that there will be time to assess the omissions and for restoration plans.
The Pancyprian Veterinary Association announced that veterinary clinics will offer their services free of charge for the care of injured animals.
