The Larnaca EOA (Organization of Assessment) has expressed concerns regarding the state of the dangerous buildings registry it received from previous authorities. In a statement, the organization noted that the handling of cases is unclear, as well as whether measures were taken and their effectiveness.

According to the Larnaca EOA, as of April 1, 2025, it received 563 registered cases from the Larnaca District Administration (359), Larnaca Municipality (104), Aradippou Municipality (23), Lefkara Municipality (36), Dromolaxia – Meneou Municipality (32) and Athienou Municipality (9). The data assessment revealed significant deficiencies and ambiguities, such as the absence of sufficient owner contact information and the lack of physical files for many cases.

The organization notes that many buildings are abandoned, making it difficult to locate responsible parties. In addition, there are complaints dating back to 2018 for which no action appears to have been taken. The Larnaca EOA assures that it is proceeding with systematic recording and evaluation of files, prioritizing high-risk cases, aiming to ensure public safety.
