Spectacular Lunar Eclipse in Cyprus – The 'Blood Moon' of 2025

Impressive images were captured by citizens in Cyprus of the lunar eclipse, the so-called 'blood moon,' which was visible on the island.
This is the last lunar eclipse for 2025. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow on the Moon's surface.
During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon takes on a deep red or copper color, hence the name 'blood moon'.
The total duration of the eclipse, including the penumbral and partial phases, was 5 hours and 27 minutes, with the total phase lasting approximately 1 hour and 21 minutes.
The eclipse reached its peak at 21:12.
