EAC Intensifies Work in Fire-Affected Areas of Limassol

The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) is continuing intensive work to replace equipment and repair damage to the electricity network in the fire-affected areas of the Limassol district, according to statements made to ΚΥΠΕ by the Deputy Press Representative of the EAC, Dimitris Nathanael.
Mr. Nathanael stated that there are communities with partial power supply, while parts of the area remain without electricity. Repair work has begun in the communities of Doros and Agios Georgios Silikou. 45 poles and 5 transformers that were destroyed by the fires have been replaced.
In addition, 2.5 km of new medium-voltage overhead network has been constructed to replace the burned section. 57 poles that had been dangerously exposed to the ground have been removed. Despite the flare-ups, work continues as normal.
