Elementary school teachers will be at schools from September 1st, while students will return to classrooms on September 8th. The Director of Elementary Education, Marios Stylianidis, wished a happy and creative year to teachers, students, and parents.

During the week before the start of classes, teachers will complete the necessary preparations, such as assigning students to classes and preparing the timetable. The "Educator's Two-Day Event" will take place from September 2nd to 5th, 2025.

Special emphasis will be given to the smooth adaptation of first-grade students. Children in Compulsory Pre-Primary Education will also start on September 8th, while a gradual adaptation program will be implemented for children aged 3-4.5 years.

Mr. Stylianidis referred to the policies that will be implemented in the new school year, such as the extension of free compulsory pre-primary education and the increase in Optional All-Day Schools. In addition, increased teaching time will continue to be provided for Greek as a second language and for remedial teaching.

Emphasis will be placed on preventing and addressing school violence and delinquency, as well as utilizing digital technologies in teaching. International surveys such as PIRLS and TIMSS will also be conducted.

Finally, the need to comply with self-protection measures against viral infections and the use of educational material posted on each subject's website is reminded.
