Audit Service Investigates Complaints in Paphos Municipality, Financial Statements Pending

The Audit Service is collecting information regarding complaints related to the Paphos Municipality, according to statements by its representative, Marios Petridis, on the show «Μεσημέρι και Κάτι».
Mr. Petridis stated that the Paphos Municipality is an example of compliance regarding the submission of financial statements, as their audit has been completed until 2023. Similar practices are also followed by the Human Resource Development Authority, the Electricity Authority, the Telecommunications Authority, and the Health Insurance Organisation.
However, the Audit Service recorded serious outstanding issues in the submission of financial statements by other general government organizations. According to the Service's data, there are 6,734 outstanding issues concerning 653 organizations for the period 1995-2023.
Mr. Petridis emphasized that 179 organizations have not submitted financial statements until 2023, which hinders the strengthening of transparency and accountability.
