Education Ministry Surprised by Student Abstention

The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth has expressed surprise at the decision of the Pancyprian Student Coordinating Committee (PSEM) to proceed with a nationwide abstention from classes.

In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that the Government is implementing the upgrade of school buildings and the installation of air conditioners at all levels. It believes that such actions harm the students themselves.

The Ministry of Education states that it is promoting expansions, improvements and construction of school units, while for the first time a decision has been taken to install air conditioners in all schools.

The Ministry calls on students to focus on their goals and learning, assuring them that the projects are already being implemented.

Finally, the Ministry of Education states that its doors are always open for dialogue with students.
